Ach du Lieber – Oktober Im Cape Coral!

Picture6October in the Cape -Palm Trees

and Jack-o-Lanterns?

It’s a “stange brew” experiencing October in the Cape,  Palm trees sway in the breeze, jack-o-lanterns adorn front doors, hardy mums become the Fall flowers while my hibiscus bush is still blooming beautiful red flowers.  I noticed more fall like vegetables at the Farmer’s Market, – squash, root veggies etc, yet I can still get terrific home growm watermelon!   Unlike “up North” I don’t see the falling leaves or changing hues of color, I can still swim in my pool (water temp on October 1st was 84 degfrees with no heater!)… It is a time of transition from long summer days to longer nights, and yes the sun is a bit loweer in the sky and evenings do get a bit cooler (mid to low 70’s) so in a way I am still in Paradise.  And two things stand out that it’s October I am beginning to see more and more out of state plates on cars – seems like the yearly “snow bird migration” is starting earlier this year and Oktoberfest is here!

big_tentFlorida’s biggest and most original Oktoberfest

And in Cape Coral October is Oktoberfest!  ….Yes the 28th annual Oktoberfest will take place on two BIG weekends..October 18th, 19th, 20th | October 25th, 26th, 27th.  Sponsored by the German American Club of Cape Coral.  Come and sample a host of German food dishes, music, festivities and of course German wines, spirits and beer! Florida Residency Has Its Benefits When it Comes to Travel and Vacation Fun!

I have found  great discount opportunties thnaks to being a Florida resident.  Who’s not into saving money?  Especailly when it comes to entertainment and travel around the sunshine state.  Some of the biggest attractions like Walt Disney World, Busch Gardens, Sea World and Universal Studios offer discounted prices on multi day admission.  Each park has specific discounted prices based on the number of days purchased.  In addition many of these parks also offer an annual season pass option.  This requires a larger outlay; however, if you and your family will be the using the park multiple times over the course of the year it could result in substantial savings.  Click Theme Park Savings for more information, also.
